CATHERINE
ANDERSON
Catherine
practiced as an attorney in South Africa for 14 years, following in the
footsteps of her father and grandfather.
She was the first female partner in the prominent Durban firm of
Woodhead, Bigby & Irving, and started and ran their branch office
in the
suburbs overseeing a large property law practice specializing in
corporate
property developments and investment mortgages.
By creating a working environment close to home Catherine was able to
balance her roles as attorney and mother, and had two children during
her legal
career.
When
Catherine and her family immigrated to the United States in 1997 she
made a
conscious decision to move into work that was more creative and
purchased a photography
franchise. Owning and operating a
franchise was a great learning experience and the business grew so
large that
after 10 years Catherine was able to sell it as two separate franchise
areas. During this time Catherine also
completed her
Master of Liberal Arts degree specializing in photography and the
creative
process and also trained as a SoulCollage®
facilitator and a Muse
facilitator and
Creativity Coach with Jan
Phillips
and Eric Maisel.
Together
with two other Charlotte women, Catherine is a founding member of Ubuntu Charlotte,
an organization whose
mission is energizing, inspiring and supporting action to help AIDS
orphans and
vulnerable children in South Africa. This
group supports Woza
Moya, an AIDS support program in rural
KwaZulu-Natal.
Catherine’s
photographs and art have been featured in numerous editions of Life Images published by Somerset Studio
and in the books Interactive Art Workshop
by Kim Rae Nugent and Collaborative Art
Journals and Shared Visions in Mixed Media by L.K. Ludwig. She
is
presently
writing a book entitled Exploring
Creativity through Photography.
Catherine
now uses her training in the legal, entrepreneurial and art worlds
together
with her passion for creativity to run workshops helping others access
their
own creativity. She teaches workshops on
Creativity, SoulCollage® and Photography in the US and South Africa.

JACKIE
BURLESON
Jackie
attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and completed her BA
degree in
Organizational Communication in 1986 and her MBA in 1988. She
went on to
work 18 years in the corporate world primarily in the roles of
technology
project manager and management consultant. Companies she worked
for
include Bank of America, DBS Systems/DirecTV, Network Computing
Corporation and
Service Dimensions Consulting. Jackie became a Vice President at
Bank of
America and attributes much of her success in the business world to her
intuition.
In
2004, Jackie knew she needed to make some major life/work-altering
decisions.
She felt burnt out at her corporate job. She had always been able
to move
to a new position within her company when she felt she needed to
breathe new
life into her work. But this time, Jackie knew it was different
and her
intuition gave her a strong message: “Another job
at this company is
not going to make a difference. You need a whole new life.”
In
2005, Jackie attended ‘Coaching for Transformation’, a year-long coach
certification program at the New York Open
Center (www.opencenter.org). She
chose this
program based on her intuition - her energy soared every time she
thought of
the program and going to study in New York City. The program’s
holistic mind/body/spirit
approach to coaching was the right choice and has opened up a whole new
world
of opportunity. Jackie now teaches a program at the Open Center
called Creating
Experiential Workshops: Putting Inspiration into Action
Jackie
left the corporate world in 2006 to start her own coaching business
EnergyConnect Coaching, LLC (www.eccoaching.com).
Combining coaching techniques and energy healing modalities such as EFT
and
TAT, she helps free her clients from what is blocking them from
creating the
life and work they desire. Through one-on-one coaching and
workshops,
Jackie helps individual clients and businesses tap into more of their
creative
and intuitive abilities for more joyful living and success.
In
2007, Jackie was featured in the national women’s magazine MORE in an
article
about career change called Against
Self-Improvement - MORE Magazine
In
2008, Jackie completed a Sixth Sensory Practitioner certification
training with
Sonia Choquette (www.soniachoquette.com),
an internationally acclaimed intuitive advisor and professional
consultant to
international business leaders. Jackie strongly believes that
using all
of one’s abilities and senses (i.e. logic, creativity, intuition,
imagination,
etc.) in your personal and professional life is the way of the future.
In
2009, Jackie earned a practitioner certification in Elixir Qigong (slow
movement and breathing exercises similar to Tai Chi). She loves
to teach
people how to use Qigong to improve their health and self-awareness and
to
reduce stress.
In
2009, Jackie completed a coach training program that helps people find
their
life purpose called ‘Know Your Purpose’ by Tim Kelley (www.knowyourpurpose.com).
The
program is based on the premise that your life purpose is available to
you by
tapping into your intuition.
